Worthy: Beautiful and Handsome (Zoo Nkauj and Zoo Nraug)

Get the most out of life by blending in with yourself. You can never go wrong with being you.

Recently, I've learned of a new word, “Introspection.”

Introspection: examination or observation of one’s own internal conscious (mental) thoughts and feelings.

If done in bad lighting it can be self-harming thus, we must actively pursue to illuminate introspection positively– something I for one been guilty of. But in so, introspection is a delightful thing if done in a lightful way. When we look inside of ourselves instead of others, we observe what we do, what we say, what we think, and what we feel because of the consciousness of how all these plays in affecting our lives and the lives of others. We seek to better understand ourselves and our creator who knitted us perfectly and wonderfully.

Those inner narratives we allow to write to ourselves dim the glow within ourselves all because of our coping responses to certain moments we’ve faced or the world’s implications upon us. While doing so we carry heavy weights that eats away who we are and why we do things -- which ultimately lead us to missed opportunities to get the most out of the life meant for us.

As a result, we fill this void with worldly things causing devastation to our own beings.

“The darkness starts showing stars revealing to us how to get the most out of life by blending in with ourselves.”

However, there comes a time when we wake up and realize we need to shake things up. To either rewrite new narratives, accept the ones that truly is us, or unwrite anything that is not welcomed any longer. Leading towards reflection and pondering on ourselves. On the approaches we have been living directly connected to the ways our inner dialogue has been written. All in an effort to be more at peace with who we are and those connected to you.

When we connect with ourselves and have intentional relationships with ourselves something beautiful happens. All the cracks start filling in because we’ve become aware of our “Whys.” We begin to grow in self-discovery that this is me and it is okay. The darkness starts showing stars revealing to us how to get the most out of life by blending in with ourselves. In today’s age you can never go wrong with being you.

What does it mean to begin a relationship with oneself? How to begin?

  • Believing: Start by believing you are fully created in your uniqueness because the world would be an awfully dull place if filled with one color. A rainbow requires a diversity of color.

  • Awareness: Dive into your inner world and have a clearer insight of who you are towards a good relationship with yourself.

  • Acceptance: Regardless of life’s experiences of yours or others’ actions and thoughts you must choose yourselves. This will allow you to see areas which are genuinely stable and could distinguish who you are to yourselves and others.

  • Removing Self Pressure: To meet your own needs you need to actively work to eliminate unhealthy expectations from loved ones, friends, society etc due to worries of how others will think of you if you do not meet their needs. The inner critic points out your flaws, failures, and mistakes but by accepting these you become a stronger person. Nevertheless, this doesn't mean “letting yourself off the hook” or running from responsibilities, but it does mean working towards expanding ourselves without harmful self-criticism.

  • Self-care: You must become your own greatest ally by taking time to tend to your own needs. Start with basic needs such as, allowing your body adequate sleep and rest, eating proper nutrition, being active, absorbing wholesome healthy materials/contents, and establishing healthy boundaries.

These are the ways in which you can overcome in becoming worthy to yourself while unapologetically be you. You are a believer and an overcomer. Though you thought you have fallen, you can rise and become the beautiful and handsome person you were wonderfully created because you are worthy. You are a creation made beautiful and handsome (zoo nkauj and zoo nraug) when you understand yourself.
